The hidden, obvious truths...

The fabric of all your threads

I know you
As fragments of other women
Pieces of you I recognise
In their touch, gaze or smile

You’re always mine
Just never complete and never whole
Ever-present touch I feel
Behind my eyelids

You are a graveyard ghost
A scent I know but can’t recall
A whisper in the crowd
Familiar spot in an inescapable maze

Where are you now?
Where all your pieces merge together
Creating a whole
That defines me somehow

Can I find you,
Touch the fabric of all your threads
Woven by past, present and future
Wrap my soul in it

Maybe it’s the search
Perhaps it’s the uncertainty I love
Fooling myself into imperfection
That thinks it needs more

When I give up
Full of thirst for suffering
When my eyes are finally open
We’ll merge again
Into one
