You’re doing great. There really is no need to worry. Make sure you have a comfortable life and add more to it, you deserve it. Make sure you do well for your children and they get the best education in the best schools available. Stop at nothing to make that happen, because they are your children, right? The smartest, cutes, most ambitious, most amazing children on the planet.
Make sure you teach them all your knowledge and wisdom. Show them, as you did all your life, that everything is created for them, up for the grabs, and that they themselves should stop at nothing to take what is theirs anyway.
Teach them that everything around them, people, situations and nature, is nothing but resources, and if they don’t use it up, someone else will. Make sure they really understand that point, because it made you who you are today.
Change nothing. Look how far you have come. You got all the diseases under control, there is a pill and a doctor for everything. Life is so much better now, isn’t it?
You conquered Nature and now it plays by your rules. You build dams wherever you want because it’s convenient and necessary. If a mountain is on your way, you blow it up or build tunnels through it. If rivers are flooding, just build walls to keep them in check. Do you need more farmland? Just remove the forests, they are of no use anyway. We need more, so we take more, right? It’s only resources, and it’s ours anyway.
Look at all your achievements. You don’t have to walk unless you want to and call it “exercise”. Everything you ever desired is in the shop nearby. All the food your parents never even dreamed of being able to afford, for you, it’s nothing, just a normal everyday snack. Enjoy your Brasilian beef, it’s “grass-fed” and “free-range”. Those cows have it great, a life they could only have dreamed of. If they could dream of anything, this is exactly what they would have wished for.
Enjoy your Duck Liver Pâté – those ducks wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for your hunger. They are made for this. It’s all just resources. And you even found a way to make their livers swell up quickly, that’s how smart you are. Shark fin soup, you deserve it, no one likes sharks anyway. It is amazing how far you have come – food is art now. You can pay enormous amounts of money for someone to create a performance of cutting up a steak and poor real gold over it. You can go to fancy restaurants and get food that makes their chefs world famous. Wow.
You must be so proud of yourself. Your children are so sure of themselves, so aware of how special they are. They never make a mistake. You make sure to correct their teachers if they think otherwise. You know you are amazing, as a parent and a constant source of inspiration for future generations. You make sure their emotional needs are met, and you’ll buy anything they desire, that’s how much you love them. They will do well to thread your steps and do as you did, just maybe more and bigger, as you taught them.
You are proud of your country, and you fight for your borders. You know your nationality defines you and you take pride in that, just like your food preferences, the clothes you wear and the car your drive define you. Why change if everything is going so well?
Look at your cities, what amazing achievements they are. You can live in your building, free and protected from the elements. You bathe as often as you want, in hot water and salts and perfumes. You never need to see your waste or garbage, it’s all dealt with easily and effortlessly. You can have food, any food delivered to your doorstep. You don’t even need to leave your place, how amazing is that?
The world you created is quite special. People used to suffer and die young. Now, no one dies of hunger. No one suffers. And all anyone needs for success is hard work and the right mentality. Equal chances for all, if they are willing to put in the work.
And, even more – you protect the environment, even in some distant lands you’ve never been in. You donate money to charities and environmental NGO’s, you really give your hundred percent. You demand paper straws in your favourite bar, and you’re going to get an electric car as well. It is amazing how much you care.
You don’t need to watch the news or listen to all the doomsday talk, because you know it’s all just propaganda. There were always storms, floods and changes in weather patterns. All these things are natural and normal. You know Nature is resilient and it is balancing itself constantly. Oceans will rise, but that’s also a normal occurrence, something that happens every now and then, and your house is high up enough anyway. Because you’re smart, you also have a bunker on New Zealand, just in case. But it won’t be necessary, not really.
Fish, there is so much fish, you can’t possibly eat them all. And you need to eat, right? So what, you build bigger boats and bigger nets, no problem.
It’s amazing how resourceful you are. You always find a solution. The oil is running out? You find a way to dig deeper. Amazing. You need more space to grow cattle and because of more cattle, you need more space to grow food for it? No problem, you clear our a rainforest, quick and efficient – problem solved. No one lives there anyway. It’s getting hotter and hotter every year? Make cheaper AC units and have every household use at least five. Make sure people have their comfort, for all the good they did. The Arctic is melting? Great, make some new shipping routes and earn more from it. Always use the opportunities when they come. Plastic islands floating on the ocean, billions of pieces? Create some competitions and challenges for young people to solve the problem, truly inspire them to dig deep. Never miss an opportunity to educate and inspire.
People are dying because all the amazing meat available cheaply to them causes obesity, heart failure or cancer? No problem, you invest billions and you will find a cure or at least a solution to manage the problem. There really is no need for anyone to change their lifestyle because you find solutions for everything. Amazing, how creative you are.
The ocean is warming up and corals are dying? You find new, inventive ways to artificially “plant” corals. Under the ocean, how amazing is that? There isn’t enough salmon in the rivers anymore? You grow them in enclosed spaces, and not one sushi-lover needs to suffer. Too much CO2 being emitted all over the planet? No need to change anything, you’ll create big air-scrubbers to suck it out.
It is amazing how imaginative and creative you are. For every problem you create, you always find some solution to at least reduce its impact. You did great. No need to change anything.
Let your biggest wishes in life be as they were – to own a house or two, maybe with a swimming pool and a few giant TV’s. Holidays on Bali, while it’s still there. Greece, before too much of it burns in summer fires. Maybe a dice at the Great Barrier Reef, this little of it that’s still there would make a great story for your barbeque evenings. New nose and some face-lifting, why now? You deserve to look amazing. Share it, post it, let everyone see and comment on it. Enjoy, you’ve earned it.
Your children have gotten a better education than you did, they will get their first car even before they have a driving licence, and possibly an apartment in the city, so they can start a life of their own more secure than you did, with less stress and hard work – what more could they want. You did great.
