The core of all my beliefs

Faith.
A simple, five-letter word, probably as equally misunderstood as the word “love”. They share a lot, those two words. They are both used too much and too lightly for words that have the very nature of Creation wrapped around the feeling they carry.

Faith I’m talking about has nothing to do with church, religion or similar human constructs. It is not a part of any ceremony, but many would not be possible without it. This kind of faith could never be a justification for any wrongdoing, let alone play an integral part of wars, hatred and separation between people. All those things are in stark contrast with the very nature of Faith I’m referring to.

It’s not faith if you need to convince everyone else that you believe. It’s not faith if you have to say it out loud every day – it’s not a declaration of your beliefs. You cannot convince yourself that you have it, and when you do, it’s something else completely. You can’t use it to bargain; you can’t feel superior because of it and it will never allow any walls between you and others. It has nothing to do with your words and everything with who you truly are. You can’t shout it out in front of other people who have their own version of not-really-it. In fact, when converted to words, it disappears.

Faith I’m talking about is a silent stream beneath all your thoughts; a magical force of attraction that connects all your actions, emotions, ideas and beliefs, but itself is a not part of them.

No one can take this Faith from you, not even your own mind or fears. Once you’ve attained it, it becomes the structural part of who you are growing into. It is a soft palm of God’s hand you will always fall into, without harm, every single time, no matter how high the fall was. It is a pillow you rest your head on when you go to sleep; the caress of the water when you’re swimming and the very thing that makes you trust your next step when you’re walking. It makes the air in your lungs sweet and full of Grace. It is in every thought that relaxes your face and makes you smile. It is in the tears that you cry when you hurt, taking the pain away, one drop at the time.

It manifests within you through pain and suffering, but only when you allow Knowledge and Wisdom to open the inner gates. Once there, you become it… and every single future experience, pleasant or not, is wrapped in it’s warm, loving touch. When you hurt, you know it will pass and it’s a step on the way forward. When you’re happy it’s in the joy that elevates you. Wherever you look, there is only Beauty.

It is that kind of Faith that guides me. It helps me to love the future that evades me and appreciate the Now that is bringing me Home every time. When something I’ve worked on fails, it fills my chest with Knowing all will be well and no Time is ever lost. When I’m lost and cold, it makes me recognise the adventure and fun in the situation, because I know I’m safe and protected and guided.

In its shine, there is no space for shadows of doubt. In its warmth, there is only the comfort of Love. It is the purest kind of energies that feeds my cells more efficiently than anything else. It is the very core of my being, dancing hand in hand with Love, it’s twin flame. I feel it’s blessings in every conscious breath, hear its whisper in the space between my thoughts. It is what makes me grateful for the past and joyful for the future. It helps me to be there for others even when I have nothing for myself. It points to a small dot of Light when every other part of me wants to see only Dark.  It nudges me forward in the most gracious of ways, making sure I never stop flowing.

With nothing but Gratitude for this gift, and Love for everyone these words may touch, I happily share my Faith with you – the smile on your hearts makes it flow stronger in mine. If you never got to know her, trust she will come to you. If you have it but it’s weak or silent, know you only need a moment of Silence to tear down the walls your mind built to try to contain it. It is your birthright to feel it, to be happy about Now and excited about tomorrow. Claim it, fearlessly – it wants you to.
